Gone Fishing (and other things)

OK, it's been quite a while since I posted.  My poor little website has had to go on the back-burner while I deal with other more pressing matters.  A new life has begun for me of late, one which is not exactly what I had in mind but nevertheless I am positive and excited at what my future now holds.  I have also commenced a Diploma of Arts in Professional Writing at the Adelaide College of Arts which I am thrilled about.  I  have a great job, working with some lovely, caring people.  My children are thriving and maturing into the beautiful people I know them to be, I have some wonderful friends who are like gold-dust and an amazing family over in New Zealand and the UK.  Oh and let's not forget the dog :).   All in all, I have a lot to be grateful for.

I hope you will all follow me in this journey and add your thoughts along the way.  It is a very odd thing this life we are put here to lead, I am still working it all out.  I am determined that this year is going to be a year of love, laughter, good health and friendship for me and I hope it will be the same for you.  Don't mind me if I post some of my musings here, the things I love and even the things that confuse the hell out of me!

Here is a thought just for today.  Have courage my friends and enjoy your week.

Maira Kalman - 1949 to present

Born in 1949, Maira Kalman is an American illustrator, author, artist, and designer.  I absolutely adore the total quirkiness of this highly original artist.  She really is quite nuts.  Take a visit to her website to learn more about her.

Henrie de Toulouse-Lautrec

Henrie de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901)

Just two of the many visions of this remarkable artist. He used his physical challenges to immerse himself in the bizarre, the colourful, the bohemian of the times.

He was loved but never really felt "loved". This is apparent in his father's laments towards him after death. Take a visit to the following website:

I raise my glass to you Henrie
